Getting Started
Every new pilot begins their training with an introduction to aviation called the Discovery Flight. This is your first chance to experience the thrill of aviation in a closely monitored, controlled environment. You will be accompanied by a Certified Flight Instructor who will show you how to control the aircraft and introduce you to the process of flying. If you choose to extend your introductory lesson, you may fly longer, but usually Discovery Flights are brief trips designed to get you used to the airplane environment. During your flight you will experience the sensation of flight that has captured the imagination of thousands since its invention. After landing you will know if aviation is a goal or even possibly the careeer path you want to pursue.

Returning Students
Hi-Tech is a Cirrus Certified Training Center. Initial Training for the cirrus and Transistion training. Private pilots who want to enhance their skills, maintain their currency or gain additional ratings can fly a variety of late model aircraft. We also currently have a 2005 Cessna 172SP with the G1000 avionics suite. Most aircraft are equipped with Garmin 430/530 GPS Navigation systems, which allow students to master some of the most advanced avionics systems in the world. As students gain experience in each aircraft, they transition to larger and more complex platforms until they are able to eventually master multi-engine complex aircraft. Flight Review/IPC
Flight reviews are required of all pilots every 24 calendar months, regardless of the number of hours flown. Hi-Tech offers flight reviews in accordance with FAA regulations designed to keep you safe and ensure you are constantly improving your skills as a pilot. Instrument proficiency checks are also available at HI-Tech Aviation. FAR 61.57 states, in part, that a pilot must log "at least 6 instrument approaches, holding procedures, and intercepting and tracking courses through the use of navigation systems" to remain current. This requirement can be met by the instructors at our school and can be conducted in our aircraft or, if current and IFR approved, yours. Contact HI-Tech Aviation at 281-370-5235 for scheduling information.

Airline Career Paths

Career paths to the airlines are as varied as the individuals who fly them. There are many ways to achieve your goals in commercial aviation. Most competetive candidates have hundreds and sometimes thousands of hours of experience as well as a college degree. While a bachelors degree is not a requirement to be hired, it certainly helps a candidate stand out from a crowd. Currrently, regional airlines across the country are hiring candidates with as little as six or eight months experience in aviation.
Training for all commercial aviation employment requires obtaining a private, instrument and commercial license. Next an applicant will be required to build more experience and knowledge by flying additional hours as an instructor or freight pilot, traffic watch pilot or banner tow pilot. All of these occupations serve to build time and expand your general knowledge of aviation. Additional knowledge gained from operating in an IFR (instrument flight rules) with large transport category aircraft is considered very valuable and ensure a greater chance for success once accepted into an airline training program.
